Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew says the reason for his goal-scoring exploits is down to his licence to roam.

Ayew has been operating in a free role on the right and grabbed the winner against Watford last time out as Palace claimed their third win on the bounce.

It took the 28-year-old’s goal tally to eight for the season which is his best return for a Premier League campaign.

Ayew also praised manager Roy Hodgson and the club for signing him full time in the summer after a mixed loan spell from Swansea the previous season.

“The most important thing is my teammates and the manager are giving me the freedom to play and to express myself,” he said to Premier League Productions. “That is what is making me do all these things.

“The gaffer had faith in me and the staff as well, the club in [Steve] Parish, Dougie [Freedman] and Mark Bright. I just need to keep going and keep working hard and who knows what will happen.

“The most important thing is we got the three points [against Watford] and have 39 points.

“We will keep going, we have to keep winning games, keep having the positive vibes in the training ground and make the supporters happy.”
