Capital punishment for the Eagles as Chelsea romp to victory

Chelsea 2-0 Palace

Crystal Palace succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against an imperious Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Seven minutes after the break, Chelsea took the lead after a good link-up between Mateo Kovacic and Willian allowed Tammy Abraham to net into the bottom corner from 10 yards.

James Tomkins wasted a gilt-edged chance to level for Palace, nodding Luka Milivojevic’s right-wing cross wide from six yards.

Chelsea put the game to bed on 79 minutes with a Pulisic header from close range after Michy Batshuayi’s deflected strike fell his way.
