Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward is out of action until the New Year after sustaining a knee injury.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed the 30-year-old will be sidelined “for a number of weeks”.
Ward hobbled off during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool and had to be substituted in the second half.
He was replaced by Martin Kelly at right back and the utility defender is set to start in his place against Burnley this Saturday.
“We’ve recovered well [over recent weeks],” Hodgson told reporters. “It is of course only Joel Ward, who was taken off [against Liverpool], and his injury I’m afraid will keep him out for a number of weeks. But he’s the only one at the moment.”
After the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United it leaves Palace with no other senior right backs as cover.
French centre half Mamadou Sakho has recovered from his knee problem but is still off match fitness.
