Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt has declared his love for the club.

Van Aanholt, 29, has become one of the team’s most reliable players since joining from Sunderland in January 2017.

After chalking up more than 100 appearances, the Dutch international says he’s enjoyed every minute of it.

“It’s been very good since the day I signed and stepped into the building, I felt welcome here and at home,” he said to Palace TV.

“I knew a couple of players already which made it easier to settle in. Ever since it’s been unbelievable, I love this club – it’s such a good club.”

Van Aanholt has weighed in with big goals from left-back this season, including winners against Manchester United and Newcastle.

“Man United away [was good] because we broke the record [for our first Premier League win there]. But the most important points was against Newcastle,”  he said.

“The heart [goal celebration] is for my wife. The other one is me and my kids love Black Panther – that’s the sign when they greet each other in the film.

“That’s why my celebration is that. My kids come to every home game. I’ve got a box, so my wife and kids sit in the box and watch.”
