Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman is in the running for the vacant manager’s job at Hearts.

Freedman is favourite ahead of fellow candidates Graham Alexander, Felix Magath and Billy Davies, according to the Daily Record.

The Scot is said to be keen for a return to management after spells with Palace, Bolton and Nottingham Forest.

He was on the Hearts shortlist when Ian Cathro was sacked and he is throwing his hat in the ring with Craig Levein now gone.

If the 45-year-old does leave, then Palace will need a replacement to oversea their £20m Academy upgrade due next year.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Manchester United are lining up a summer move for Wilfried Zaha.
