Report: Palace chasing young Wolverhampton defender

Cameron John

Crystal Palace have joined the chase for Wolves centre back Cameron John.

The Daily Mail reports that Palace are competing with Premier League rivals Leicester and also Middlesbrough for his interest.

The 20-year old has shined while on loan at Doncaster Rovers where he has played eight games and scored twice.

The left-footed defender was watched by scouts on Saturday in Rovers’ 2-0 League One win against Peterborough United.

Comfortable on the ball and with a decent turn of speed, John signed for Wolves from Southend in 2015.

He is in the final year of his contract with the Molineux club who have the option of extending it further.

Meanwhile, Palace, West Ham and Everton are keen on Tottenham winger Jack Clarke, says the Daily Express.

The 18-year-old is currently on loan at Leeds but could be recalled as he’s played just two Carabao Cup matches.
