Report: Palace still monitoring Turkish midfielder Tufan

Crystal Palace are still keeping tabs on Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan.

According to Sport Witness, the Eagles had someone watch Tufan’s game against Galatasaray at the weekend.

Media reports suggest that Everton and Southampton are also keen on the 24-year-old, who has 47 caps for his country.

Palace are willing to trigger a €20m buyout clause for Tufan even though he is contracted until June 2024.

Meanwhile, Alexander Sorloth admits he is surprised by speculation linking him with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The striker has impressed with 24 goals while on loan at Trabzonspor this season with many Palace fans are surprised Palace let him go.

“I sat in the dressing room and checked the phone before a match,” he said. “I saw that there was a lot of activity in boys’ group on Snapchat. Then I saw the article about the rumours.

“It was a bit special to see it before I went out to play a match. You just have to use it for what you can, it builds self-confidence.

“I’ve heard as much as you. I haven’t heard anything directly, no. You don’t know if there is truth in it or not. It’s nice to be linked and it just builds on the self-confidence, which is already OK.”
