Crystal Palace midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp says the Premier League must complete its outstanding fixtures.

The sporting world is currently suspended due to the coronavirus crisis with all league games halted until at least April 30.

There is talk that the campaign could resume next month with a hectic schedule of games to conclude by the end of July.

Schlupp, 27, would be in favour of that especially as he is finally back from a hip injury that has kept him out since December.

In an interview with Alex Howell TV, he said: “I can’t wait, especially when I’ve missed so much before all this happened anyway.

“I literally got back for one game and everything got shut down, it’s almost like it teased me. But I’m ready to go whenever.

“The league has started so you’ve got to finish it. Cancelling the season doesn’t really work with me, it’s too harsh on the league.

“If you ask most of the players, everyone wants to play so if there’s the option to finish the season the players would stand by that.”

Palace teammate Andros Townsend agrees and he said recently: “The season has to finish… Being selfish, we’re having a half decent season for once so we’d like to see how well we can finish.”
