Crystal Palace star Jeffrey Schlupp dreams that Crystal Palace can one day win the Premier League.

Schlupp was part of the Leicester City side that shocked the football world by claiming the 2015/16 title – just a year after avoiding the drop.

The 26-year-old says Leicester’s unlikely success is an inspiration to him and his Palace teammates.

“I came up from when we were in the Championship to getting to the Prem was one dream,” he told Palace TV. “And before you knew it, bang. We got promoted, stayed up that year, maybe on the last day I think it was, and won the league the next year.

“It shows you that anything is possible. It’s mad, they said it was 5,000-1 but guess what, it happened.

“Who’s to say we can’t [win the league]. We go out every week to win – it’s not like we go out to lose. We go to win. One of the first conversations I had with everyone was about that season [with Leicester].

“We’ve got Gary Cahill in there now and he’s won everything [with Chelsea]. He’s played won the Champions League, Europa League, Premier League multiple times, the League Cup, FA Cup.

“He’s won it all. The more winners you get there, you’re going to pass the energy on and obviously try and win.”

Schlupp, who Sam Allardyce signed from Leicester in January 2017, says Palace have the best home support.

He added: “I’ve always said it – ask anyone I know – I’ve always said Selhurst [has the best atmosphere].

“For it to be my home ground, man, it’s crazy. Every single week we play there, the energy is crazy. It’s mad, it’s mad.

“Even other people, other mates I play against from other teams, they all say the same thing when they come to Selhurst. They know the atmosphere is mad.”
