Former Leicester City right back Danny Simpson is attracting the interest of Crystal Palace.

Simpson was released by the Foxes at the end of last season and is weighing up his options at home and also the USA.

The 32-year-old, who was part of Leicester’s title-winning side in 2016, played just six games for the Foxes last term.

According to TeamTalk, the Eagles and Premier League rivals Brighton have been in touch with Simpson’s agent.

Palace are keen to sign a new right back after Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United for a whopping £50m.

Sporting director Dougie Freedman says they had found it difficult to find a replacement with clubs inflating fees knowing Palace have that money bolstering their coffers.

Palace have also reportedly been chasing Rangers’ 27-year-old right back James Tavernier.

  1. Nice to see I have a namesake….Long live the “Cockneys”..London forever..even if I was born in Scotland !!

  2. We knew AWB was going to leave within this last transfer window, so why hadn’t we already been looking for a possible replacement and therefore not now be chasing around like headless chickens… cannot say I am exactly jumping up and down with joy on the reported replacements..could it be we have once again missed the boat ?
