Tosun ‘upset’ his season is over after suffering knee injury

Cenk Tosun

Crystal Palace forward Cenk Tosun has broken down with a knee injury and returned to parent club Everton.

Tosun joined Palace on loan for the rest of the season in January and has made five appearances, scoring one goal.

The 28-year-old moved to Palace for regular game time in order to secure a place in Turkey’s squad for Euro 2020.

But he could now miss the summer tournament after sustaining the injury in training and he told Turkish media of his disappointment.

“I am struggling to sleep,” he said to TRT Spor. “I am so upset at the moment. But there’s nothing I can do about it. I want to think there is also a good thing in this.”

Palace have an option to make the move permanent but will await results of a potential operation.
