Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says the 4-0 defeat by Liverpool was a big learning curve.
A weakened Eagles side was thrashed by the Premier League champions elect at Anfield.
After Wilfried Zaha went off injured on 14 minutes, the rampant Reds showed their superiority by scoring two goals in each half for the win.
“We’ve got to learn a lesson, there’s no doubt about that,” said Hodgson.
“We can learn how to pressurise how well they do and to show as much power as strength as they’ve done in the game.”
