Report: Guaita on Chelsea’s shortlist for a new goalkeeper

Crystal Palace’s Vicente Guaita is on Chelsea’s shortlist for a new goalkeeper, according to reports.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is said to not rate Kepa Arrizabalaga after inconsistent performances this season.

The world’s most expensive goalie was replaced by the veteran Willy Caballero for Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Leicester on Saturday.

The Mirror says that Lampard has identified Palace’s Guaita or Burnley’s Nick Pope as his future No.1.

Guaita has had an impressive campaign at Selhurst Park despite his howler on Saturday that gifted Sheffield United a goal.

Palace will likely offer Guaita – who arrived on a free transfer from Getafe – fresh terms on his contract which expires at the end of next season to stave off interest.
