Trouble ‘n’ strife for Milivojevic

Luka Milivojevic says his obsession with watching football on TV could land him in big trouble with his wife.

Crystal Palace’s captain loves nothing better than spending the day watching soccer on the box when he’s not playing – but it might come at a cost.

“If I watch TV, what I mostly watch is football – I think my wife one day is going to kill me because it’s all day,” he told the Palace website.

“On Saturday, we finish the game, then Sunday is recovery day and I’m at home all day from one in the afternoon until till I think eight or nine in the evening when I’m watching football.”

Palace fans won’t worry about the Serbian enforcer getting square eyes after he committed his future to the club by signing a new four-year contract last week.

The penalty expert’s contract was up for renewal next summer and he was chuffed to agree fresh terms.

He said: “I am very happy of course, very delighted to sign, very delighted to continue to play for this great club. I have to thank first of all the chairman and I’m delighted to continue to work with Roy Hodgson – a great manager and great man.

“And as well I’m very happy because I will be in the same dressing room I hope for the next four years. I must say we have a very good group of players and I am so happy that I will continue to work with them.”
