Report: Palace and Brighton fighting it out for Slovakian keeper

Dominik Greif

Crystal Palace are in a two-way tug of war with Brighton for Slovan Bratislava keeper Dominik Greif.

Football Insider says both clubs are interested after watching his recent stand-out display against Wolves in the Europa League.

The 22-year-old blocked Ruben Neves’ penalty and pulled off several outstanding saves to impress Eagles coach Dean Kiely despite their 1-0 defeat.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo said afterwards: “He did a very good job but we have to improve. Some of those are a credit to the goalkeeper but we must do better.”

Slovakian international Greif, who stands at 6ft 6in, has kept nine clean sheets in 24 matches so far this term.

He spent two weeks on trial with Palace in March 2015 and could now make the move to London permanent.
